LADaMAX PRODUCT CATALOGUE:
LADaMAX ladders, creators of the world’s safest ladders have been the leading ladder specialist in Australia since 1998.
The uniquely designed ladders incorporate a range of fail safe mechanisms, cutting-edge materials and high quality production processes.
The LADaMAX range of products are proudly Australian owned and designed by Glen Bailey, the company director, previous MD of Bailey Ladders Company. Because of the lightweight but durable, heavy duty performance and the company safety record it is the number one choice of tradies across the country.
The LADaMAX company was looking to redesign the online presence and marketing material and required a complete product range photoshoot that carefully represented the safety aspect and unique design and structure of the ladder range.
Glen Bailey personally contacted me, initially a few years back, which then lead to an ongoing relationship. We then over a few years created a detailed and clear representation of the entire LADaMAX range in studio, to build a well organised photo-library for use in both online marketing and print based material
The Brief:
When Glen originally approached me, he was looking for a commercial photographer with experience in the industrial arena, particularly an industrial photographer with runs on the board in construction environments. A photographer with an understanding of working-at-height safety standards was a bonus.
After our initial meeting and discussion outlining, not only my fit in the industrial industries, but also my background as an art director and creative director in main-stream advertising, we both knew it was going to be a great fit.
Glen was very particular in making sure his designs were represented in the clearest manner and the safety aspects where easy to understand from a visual standpoint. Glen worked closely with me in the studio to assist in illustrating the finer points of his design approach so we could successfully realise this in the finished imagery.
Photography Process:
The images had to be cleanly photographed, so the ladders were always the hero. This was achieved by shooting in a high key environment on a white cyclorama, evenly lit so there were no distractions.
Colour was important for consistency in print and web environments where products would be presented often in groups or side by side. This was achieved by particular attention to lighting, in-camera temperature setting and careful post-production processes. All details of shoot processes were noted and kept on file for future additions to product lines so consistency of product presentation can be maintained.
Even Ladders need Attention:
It doesn’t matter what the focus of the shoot is or where we might be shooting, everything should get equal importance when it comes to executing good quality photography. When products, people or events are photographed for commercial application, good preparation, knowledge of the subject matter and an understanding of the story and end use is paramount. Everything a commercial photographer shoots for a client needs equal attention…even ladders!
