ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Environmental photography tells the story of an environment or place at a certain given time. The images will often, but not always, depict a location involving people or the impact of people such as buildings in a cityscape, homeless people on the streets, mining or an eco-friendly resort destination.
Dave spends a lot of time working with mining clients and contractors documenting mined land rehabilitation. Mined land rehabilitation has come a long way in the past 20 years and Dave has been with the development of rehab techniques and applications the whole way. Working with mining contractors and companies such as BUMA Australia, Q Coal and Anglo American, Dave has been there to document environments, before mining starts, during the mining process, rehabilitation processes and the post results of mined land rehabilitation.
Dave’s experience photographing and mapping creeks and waterways, prior to mining or construction, so rehabilitation and replacement can be done with accuracy in the future, from helicopters and drone equipment has been invaluable to his mining and civil clients.
Another area of the environment that requires careful photographic documentation is historical and heritage listed buildings and culturally significant areas and landmarks. Dave has photographed historically important archeological findings, heritage listed buildings and environmental landmarks important to First Nations People.
Dave has a REPL and is endorsed to fly remote piloted aircraft to 25kg making him a perfect choice for LiDAR equiped missions.
Dave has photographed many locations in both urban and remote settings to illustrate stories of military history in the environment, architectural integration with the natural landscape, tourism locations, wildlife destinations and rehabilitation of land impacted by construction, mining and resource companies.
